Some info on DDR RAM

I don't know if this has been posted yet

From JC's (http://www.jc-news.com/pc/) who got it from someone else ;)

An Athlon chipset coming out later this year (probably 2H my WAG) will support DDR SDRAM

"DDR will be generally available in Q3
DDR SDRAM costs about 3% higher than SDR (regular) SDRAM
According to them, DDR has an initial latency of 45ns and DRDRAM's is in excess of 65ns
JEDEC project 35-40% market share for DDR SDRAM in 2001 and DRDRAM will achieve 8% market share
DDR2 will use multiple channels (four of them!) and will be VCM or ESDRAM (instead of the regular SDRAM we're used to) for 6GB/s bandwidth. DDR2 will appear in the first half of 2001."
