Too bad we cannot arrange to get a whole railroad car's worth of Spam cans dumped on this person's front lawn (along with the legal obligation to pay for it !) (By the way -- this popular conception of what happens if a "long" on a futures contract forgets to un-wind the long before first notice day (or -- even worse : first delivery day) is totally incorrect). What you would eventually get is (merely) (first) a "notice of intention to deliver," and then (later) ... a warehouse receipt (representing the soybeans or silver or whatever). Jon.
