G'day all - hi Jack, your action is quite prudent [wish I could learn from you and others who clearly have the head screwed on right :)] I ve stayed away from the [fiber optics] component hi flyers, but I am still finding under appreciated small caps, especially those who are in both fiber optics and wireless components space, like ALN, who has a $45MM contract with NT supplying GSM/CDMA components.

In term of fluctuation, you are absolutely right, except that we have to look at the reason of the movement, such as company specific and whether it is supply or demand driven. I think people are a bit more careful to distinguish sectorial change vs company misstep. A few years ago, COMS blamed its trouble on the slowdown of the networking industry. Well, evidently, it was a buying oppty for those who like CSCO [I have neither of these 2 stocks.] Now, people look at the reason and CEOs, kudos to Mr McGinn, are more forecoming.

best, Bosco
