I could go back and reference many posts from this board, from the past few weeks prior to the merger announcement, that had an irrational bent to the them. The fact is Steve Case's holiday wishes sounds almost identical to some of those posts.

Faith is necessary for a bull market to emerge and sustain itself. Buying and holding takes faith; Faith in your own analysis and judgment, the management of the company, the economy... you get the picture. Skewing your faith with irrational expectations will lead to disaster. To have the CEO of a company fueling irrational expectations reminds me of penny stock operators.

As I alluded to prior to the merger announcement - holding onto AOL stock will take faith, because rational expectations of future growth are changing.
