"The year-end totals demonstrate that the individual self-directed investor is a savvy investor who is buying high-quality stocks," said Thomas K. Lewis, co-CEO of Ameritrade.

The Index, which is available at www.AmeritradeIndex.com to Ameritrade customers and the public, shows whether individual online investors at Ameritrade are net buyers or sellers on a given day, along with the top 10 equities those individual investors bought and sold. The Index is market value weighted. Ameritrade pulled the most popular buys and sells for the entire year from its database. Research conducted by Roper Starch Worldwide indicates that Ameritrade investors are representative of online investors as a whole.

Hi William, re:<<At this point it wouldn't matter.-Damage has been done.>> My point is that Michael Dell should have taken the same action as AT&T, as well as others, when the problem first arose. That was the time to act. Did you see how fast EMC acted when they were being accused that sales would fall off because of y2k lock downs?

Re:<<Tough for MSD to say anything when he and his foundation are selling.I think he better quit giving speeches and get back on the job.FAST!>> I for one can't help but wonder how much time MD is devoting to Dell Computer these days? Instead of selling stock at this time, he and his staff should be buying stock. JMO
