Tony - <Nice post. Thanks for coming out (ex-Intel). Re books about Intel, I also recommend "Intel Inside" (I know, I have done that before on this thread). >

greg s here, and several other ex-Employees I know that post at differing frequencies, certainly have a different perspective than our favorite ex-Intel employee on the AMD thread, kapkan, don't you agree?

Guess it takes all kinds.

Tony, re:Inside Intel

I agree that this is a very good read and that, broadly, it gives a good insight into the early days. I must caution that some of the details are a bit overblown and I doubt some of the author's implied conclusions. Like any of the "historical novels", it should be taken with a grain of salt. The author admits that his access to Intel execs was limited and he relies on a lot of ex-Intellabees for his information ... who may or may not have some axe to grind.

Greg.

Tony,
OT

I found Tim Jackson's "Inside Intel" presented Grove and the steps he took to lead Intel thru the early years in a more positive light than Grove himself did. Hard choices had to be made and Grove made those choices.

I don't know if pAUL get royalties on his chapter and interview though.
:o)

steve

edit: both books were about $15 or less in paperback, both worth the money.
