At the higher level, sure. WC has a harder challenge in that the software development required for WC is I think a lot more sophisticated than what Ariba needs. It is easy to understand what is involved in procurement, but hard to figure out how the manufacturing system of the future will be architected. I wonder what PMTC is going to do with the MCAD business. It almost seems to be a distraction. Maybe they should spin MCAD off! Then MCAD could pursue its own business model, maybe do what Oracle wants to do and just sell MCAD software via the web, with drastically cut prices, and no salemen running around.
