Wednesday January 12, 4:01 am Eastern Time Boeing plans to buy Hughes division - Bloomberg NEW YORK, Jan 12 (Reuters) - Boeing Co. (NYSE:BA - news) plans to buy Hughes Electronics Corp.'s (NYSE:GMH - news) satellite-manufacturing business, Bloomberg reported Tuesday. The Hughes division, based in El Segundo, California, employs 8,000 people and analysts forecast 1999 sales will be nearly $2.3 billion, the report said. The report, which cited people familiar with the matter, did not include a value for the transaction but said an announcement could come as soon as Wednesday.
