John, re EXDS. The value added services EXDS is offering are to the customers they are providing web hosting for. Such services include their Security Services Pack and ReadyCache Content Distribution Service, etc. These are services to their web hosting clients, as opposed to using their own facilities to host application software apps on servers of their own to outside end user companies. As evidenced by their acquisition of KeyLabs, the array of services EXDS will be able to offer will continue to expand.

EXDS could go into the ASP business if they so chose, like QWST, but they have no intention of doing so. (I didn't mean to imply EXDS did plan to do this). I think this is a good move as I mentioned in my last post.

Now re ASP's themselves, I like the concept of the ASP model a lot, but do not see a G or K investment coming out of this business with such apparently low switching costs for the customer. If I am missing something here re ASPs please someone tell me. Otherwise ASP companies like USIX are not on my watch list.
