I suspect it may be as simple as they needed the $ to keep the lights on/fund Canatuan (more near-term) and could not afford working interests at both Canatuan and Rapu Rapu. I assume the deal doesn't give Edco preferred drill rights at Rapu Rapu , or else it would have been mentioned.

Hey John , any idea what's up with this puppy the last couple of days? Can't believe the pop in POG has that dramatic an effect on Canatuan economics.
