Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe in the post announcement meeting, Irwin himself said Nokia was involved in the negotiations up until the last minute. Anyone remember what he said exactly?

I will explain why NOK has to get aboard the good ship Q. Its called 1xrt and its coming to a store near you. It has a 64kbs modem access and a 300 standby time. How will NOK CDMA phones compete with SAMSUNG and KYO whom are already cleaning their clocks. Go to a local Sprint store ask them what they really think of NOK's CDMA phones. If they carry them, BAM wont because they are so bad. Look at it like an arms race and 1xrt is like the jet plane compared to the propeller plane, and Nok cant win the CDMA handset war shooting those two barrels out of an old bi-wing! They know it and they will buy chips. At least till the straighten out their own!
