Interview synopsis from another board __________________ JDSU vs. ETEK "Is JDSU kicking everyone's ass?" - No, it's not about competition, it's about keeping up with demand for additional equipment, and both of us are having trouble keeping up. "What do you do?" - Optical is the key tech for the next 10 years. All about bandwidth, current infra out of capacity, ADSL and Cable going in everywhere, just trying to keep up. "Where is the risk to meet demand the greatest?" The real threat for ETEK is execution, growing fast, expanding mfg 300% over the last few years, new plant in Taiwan, new very large facitily in China, doing everything to invest in new mfg as fast as possible. Wireless - Not a threat. It uses land infrastructure somewhere and we're there building that.
