amic - <Well I am not on the technical side.

But when talking to our targets in Europe, especially IT people, they are referring to a whole series of issues with Intel meeting deadlines, from Merced (still there top of mind for many of them, believe it or not), to Coppermine, to 820/MoBo availability, to availability of products in general (be it for production "problems" or production capacity).
Gelsinger declared in public during an EMEA PR event to IT specialists that this was not acceptable and had to be fixed.
Sorry I can't be much more precise, I do not have access to my files anymore ;-) What I hear is that the factory folks are working hard on this. Not that problems are behind Intel. Maybe you are more up-to-date?>

That's a pretty wide range. I believe Coppermine to be more fab constrained than anything (production capacity).

I don't know about anything about issues with Mobo's, and am not familiar with most of the detail in the Merced program.

RE: "many IT people (especially large accounts) feel that Intel "doesn't care about them" anymore, as to implement its "Internet" strategy it is trying to reach Line-of-business people rather than them, they are not exactly happy."

Hi Amic,

I would like to understand this better. What specifically do you think the IT folks mean when they say Intel doesn't care anymore, i.e. is less time spent with IT folks? Has something changed?

Also, when you say line-of-biz people, who exactly do you mean? I know what a product-line manager is, but I am not sure I know what you mean by line-of-biz people (do you mean GMs?)

Thank you,

Amy J
