Advanced FoodSystems Selects Ironside to Deliver E-Commerce Module

Leading Food Industry Enterprise Software Developer Names
Ironside Powered FoodWEB© the Exclusive E-Commerce
Module for FoodDISTRIBUTE©

PLEASANTON, Calif.-Jan. 10, 2000-Ironside Technologies Inc.©, a leading
supplier of sell-side business-to-business electronic commerce solutions for the
manufacturing and wholesale distribution market, today announced that it has
been selected by Phoenix, Ariz.-based Advanced FoodSystems (AFS) as the
exclusive e-commerce technology for FoodDISTRIBUTE, AFS' flagship
enterprise resource planning (ERP) suite. Known as FoodWEB, the
e-commerce module will leverage Ironside's industry-leading performance,
integration and time-to-market characteristics, providing a cost-effective strategy
for rapidly delivering sophisticated e-commerce to the food industry.

This relationship follows a December announcement that marked Ironside's food
and foodservice industry push. The Ironside Powered FoodWEB module signals
further industry momentum, providing access to the AFS customer base of
165-plus food processors, distributors and retailers.

"We have a proven history of building solid business management solutions and
partnering with reputable industry leaders to deliver comprehensive, turn-key
functionality that tightly integrates with FoodDISTRIBUTE," said Advanced
FoodSystems President and COO, Pamela Brunke. "Ironside was the obvious
choice for our e-commerce module, providing unparalleled performance, deep
integration and proven expertise in the food industry. FoodWEB will provide our
customers world-class e-commerce technology priced to fit a wide range of
operating budgets."

"Ironside has developed a significant presence in the food and foodservice
industries, which will only be enhanced by our work with Advanced
FoodSystems," said Ironside President and CEO Bill Lipsin. "Advanced
FoodSystems' reputation for innovation and its commitment to open standards
provides the foundation for a very synergistic relationship."

In addition to FoodWEB, Advanced FoodSystems' technology modules include
FoodBIS©, a business intelligence module based on technology from Cognos;
FoodSCAN©, a fully integrated, "roaming terminals" module for advanced
warehouse operations; FoodEDI©, an electronic data interchange (EDI) module
based on industry-standard EDI transaction sets; and FoodABC, an advanced
operations analysis tool for ranking customers, products and services by
activity-driven profitability.

International Data Corporation (IDC) recently cited Ironside as the largest
installed base in the sell-side business-to-business e-commerce marketplace

("Internet Commerce Procurement Application Market Review, Forecast and
User Trends," August 1999). Manufacturers and distributors in the food and
foodservice industries that have selected an Ironside Powered solution include
The Boelter Company, Cacique, Mother Parkers Tea and Coffee and Serca.

FoodWEB will be available Spring 2000, providing Advanced FoodSystems
customers a full-scale interactive business-to-business product for food and
foodservices. The FoodWEB module will be implemented and maintained by
AFS' Ironside Certified professional services group.
