If one reads his posts carefully they contain gems of logic...

Those "gems" come from other sources. It would be a mistake to confuse parroting with original thinking.

Can't say I have ever learned anything from him - but I am not looking for stock ideas. He does have a broad, but shallow, working knowledge of the industry and he sometimes makes some nice logical connections in his reasoning - e&p vs. osx, deep vs. shallow, etc. But it certainly is not worth my time to wade through all the childish taunting or boasting to get to the cogent thoughts.
