How valid is technical analysis of price movement when the period of analysis spans such a large fundamental shift in the underlying company?

It seems that people are waiting for the analysts to give their blessing. Things are kind of quiet now. I didn't notice any confusion among the institutions, just look at the size of the trades. They are buying and buying.

The capitulation over the last 2 days is good. All of the weak hands are filtered out, which is what is necessary for a rally. Look at WCOM yesterday. People who dumped at 40 11/16 are rather upset right now. Might see some more downside, but it is due for a gapper in the morning. It rallied to 60 rather quickly in the past 10 minutes, an analyst upgrade of some kind is likely in the morning based on the tape. We Shall see.
