I guess it's because we are the only ones silly enough to be fiddling while Rome burns. Well, make yourself lively. I'll pick up the books and papers and stack them up neatly, you can vacuum and dust.

Now that I look around, I do agree that this room is not quite ready for prime time. The decorations and furnishings could use some arranging - it seems like everything was just shoved in here in a hurry.
