Interesting that he held that shares and didn't sell them right away. Sounds very positive for the rest of us who don't make $3M a year!

Globe says Bombardier chief exercises options

Bombardier Cl B SV BBD.B
Shares issued 507,400,794 Jan 12 close $31.30
Thu 13 Jan 2000 In the News
The Globe and Mail reports in its Thursday, Jan. 13, edition that
Bombardier chairman Laurent Beaudoin enjoyed one of corporate Canada's
biggest paydays last month when he exercised stock options worth
$94-million. The Globe's Oliver Bertin writes that Mr. Beaudoin decided to
keep the shares rather than cash them in. The options were due to expire on
Dec. 21. The chairman still holds options to buy 5.4 million more Class B
shares, worth a total of $265-million if he cashed them in today. Mr.
Beaudoin is paid a regular salary for his duties at Bombardier -- a base
rate of $1.25-million in 1998, a bonus of $1.75-million and other
compensation of $125,796 for a total of $3.1-million. Mr. Beaudoin's stock
options are worth so much, they have split three times since they were
granted in 1989.

BOMBARDIER ADDS FOURTH Q SERIES CUSTOMER IN JAPAN WITH
Q200 SALE TO NAGASAKI AIRWAYS

JANUARY 13, 2000
TORONTO, ONTARIO--Bombardier Aerospace announced today that
Nagasaki Airways Co. Ltd. has placed a firm order for one Q200*
turboprop for its regional airline operations in Nagasaki
Prefecture on Kyushu, Japan's westernmost province. Delivery is
scheduled for the first quarter of 2001.

Nagasaki Airways, which was established in 1961, will fly the Q200
on the Iki-Fukuoka and Iki-Nagasaki routes. Planned utilization is
about 2,000 hours per year.

"We selected the Q200 because of its unrivalled performance, low
operating costs, proven reliability and outstanding passenger
appeal through its Noise and Vibration Suppression (NVS) system,"
said Kazutaka Muraoka, president of Nagasaki Airways.

"We are very pleased that Nagasaki Airways is the first Q200
customer in the important Japanese regional airline marketplace,"
said Steven A. Ridolfi, president of Bombardier Aerospace,
Regional Aircraft. "It further expands the firmly-established
presence of our Q Series turboprops in the country."

The Nagasaki Airways order adds to Bombardier Aerospace's already
strong presence in the growing Japanese market for efficient and
economical regional turboprop aircraft. In 1999 Air Nippon Co.
Ltd. of Tokyo placed a firm order for three 56-seat Q300*
airliners. Other Dash 8(r) aircraft are operated in Japan by
Amakusa Airlines and Ryukyu Air Commuter.

In the Asia-Pacific region as a whole in 1999, Bombardier sold 11
Q Series and seven CRJ* aircraft to eight operators.

Bombardier Aerospace, a unit of Bombardier Inc., is the world's
third largest civil aircraft manufacturer with operations in three
countries. Leading the 20- to 70-passenger regional carrier
market, Bombardier Aerospace offers complete families of turboprop
and regional jet aircraft. It has the industry's widest range of
business jets, offering both full and fractional ownership, and
also produces firefighting/maritime mission aircraft. It provides
technical services, aircraft maintenance and pilot training to
business, regional airline and military customers.

Bombardier Inc. is a Canadian corporation active in the fields of
aerospace, rail transportation equipment, recreational products
and financial services. It operates plants in 12 countries in
North America, Europe and Asia, and more than 90 per cent of its
revenues are generated outside Canada. Bombardier's revenues for
its fiscal year ended January 31, 1999, totalled Cdn $11.5
billion.
