AT&T and Microsoft in Talks for M&A

The Time Warner-AOL deal may be creating more than tremors.

Another earthquake is in the making.

"A high-level source at Goldman Sachs tells MoneyNews.com that AT&T, a Goldman client, has opened talks with Microsoft. Both parties are said to be talking about a mega-mega M&A deal. Deal is said to be on the fast track. Goldman source says AT&T anxious to do deal after making an unsuccessful play with AOL."

Norm-- AOL is where it is only due to fantastic marketing. MSN is not what I want but AOL sux in comparison. Now drop 100 million CDs offering free startup and minutes every few months, keep the advertising going strong, get the younger generation hooked and you get the 30 million,, being first with the mktg did the trick. Great stock-- lousey service but once the newbies are attached they do not move. They stayed when they heard more busy signals than connections,,, I own both but use AT&T as my ISP (formerly IBM Global).
