What are your thoughts on RJR? Do you see greater risk since it is a pure tobacco play? The dividend, book value, and cash they hold certainly seem appealing.

I didn't mean to imply that MO was like CPU in any way other than the possibility that MO is not at it's bottom yet. Certainly, I would expect MO to be around for many years to come, regardless of how the lawsuits turn out. I just got a bit squeemish about buying MO right now when I saw the negative comments in Worth. Ironically, CPU was also mentioned in the stocks to avoid section of Worth shortly after I bought some at 12+ and we both know what happened after that. Why buy MO now when you will probably get it even cheaper in the near future? I wouldn't take any more than a small initial position at these prices.

Also, I'm not so sure that risk in the tech sector will scare people into stocks like MO to a significant extent. It seems that the riskier the tech stocks get, the more people love them. It's almost as if high risk is as essential to a tech stock these days as a low PE ratio used to be to blue chips.
