Charlotte Hornets guard Bobby Phills has been killed in a two-vehicle traffic accident near the Charlotte Coliseum, according to Hornets owner George Shinn, who was at the scene of the accident. The team had just completed its morning shoot-around at the Charlotte Coliseum in advance of tonight?s game against the Chicago Bulls. Television station WCNC in Charlotte says the car Phills was driving collided with another vehicle around 11 a.m. ET. Phills joined the Hornets in 1997 after six years with Cleveland. He averaged 10.9 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game for his career heading into this season.
