I have said all along that I am for increasing benefits for the poor, probably by 100% or more even, because I think the payout is too low for the bottom tier, and the threshold is too low (but I'm not entirely sure, need the specifics). Medical care seems to be lacking judging from the number of homeless on the street.

I also think using the lottery as a way to fund schools is another reverse robin hood approach to funding services. God knows we've got a boatload of wealthy people around here and there is no reason schools need to be funded by a lottery, its an incredibly sad situation. (I'm not for pulling the lottery at this point since its one of the few sources of $ coming in but how it has come to this amazes me).
