CNBC was talking about the merger as a positive thing, we'll just have to see how it plays out. Your guess is as good as mine at this time, the stock really could go either way I suppose. The AOL deal did not do well for the stock, atleast short term.

Tony: MSFT merging with ATT would be the worst thing in the world for MSFT shareholders and therefore I am glad Bill Gates is such a large shareholder. ATT margins are pale when compared to MSFT. I was on record that AOL merger would be bad for AOL and a merger with ATT by MSFT would be a horrific idea for MSFT. MSFT crying "don't throw me in that Briar Patch" is the the real interesting story here. If they got split up history shows a record of shareholder enrichment in such events with parts > than the whole and the parts growing as rapidly as the parent that spawned them. I am hoping that MSFT will take this thing to the mat as there has been no harm to the consumer. JFD
