CNET to acquire Deja.com? Well, maybe not, but it was big news yesterday that CNET acquired mysimon for $702 million in stock. And mysimon and deja.com already have a strong business relationship with mysimon:
mysimon.com

Deja is unlikely to IPO, I got that impression after they intially filed in June 1999 and nothing has been heard from them since. Besides, a media article (businessweek?) recently speculated that it would me a prime takoever target for a portal.

Deja would fit really well with CNET. Although deja would need CNET more than the other way around and CNET is spending enough money as it is on acquisitions. Deja would do much better to join a portal rather than continue as a standalone entity. USENET is being commodified, CNET's new help.com reminds me of deja.com, both are (at heart) USENET with a bowtie wrapper on top. Actually, I believe expertcity.com is helping CNET with help.com. I wonder if expertcity.com is the same company that About.com acquired yesterday. A lotta action goin' on in this market space...

This stock no longer shows on the Yahoo IPO calendar. I know it was filed but not priced what's up with it? I am a
major Deja.com fan. Not nuts about all the new stuff but as long as they let me search unhindered/unbiased I am a
big fan. Still think if I could choose just one aspect of the net it would be Deja.
