Imagine where QCOM will be in 2, 3, 4 or 5 years after its pause.

Exactly.

And David, thanks for taking the time to do the research to put things in perspective.

David,

<< Cisco had at least two ~40% corrections in its stock ( CSCO ) over the last few years >>

I was fortunate to add substantially to my CSCO positions in each of those corrections (specifically on March 14, 1997 & October 6, 1998).

At the end of each year for 4 consecutive years I have taken CSCO profits to fund other investments, trimming CSCO back to 20% of my portfolio each year. If you read Moore carefully, you will notice he recommends a balanced portfolio, even though he talks about consolidation.

As I write CSCO is 18.8% of my portfolio, the smallest % of same it has been for 4 years.

<< holding these Gorilla stocks tightly >>

I hold the Silverback CSCO tightly. At some time I will trim young QCOM back to 20% of my portfolio, but for the moment I'm letting it ride at > 30% of my portfolio (it was > 37% a few weeks ago after that "abnormal" 12/29 day to be remembered).

Like CSCO, QCOM has a few more tornadoes to go (IMO). 3G will be the big one. Estimates vary on when it will begin. I say 2004, could be earlier, doubtful its later. Licenses about to be auctioned in UK. cdma2000 or UTMS with UTRA (WCDMA) really doesn't matter. Q IPR is the air interface (UTRA).
