Justa, thanks for opening things up here.

One thing the newsletter didn't talk about is tax consequences. For holdings that have less than 50% of their value as capital gains, a simple strategy of sell will work fine.

But for holdings like his one in Portfolio 1 from Janus, 75% of its value is capital gain. It would take a 20% correction to break even on selling it.

If one just sells the low gain funds, then one is left with only aggressive funds that are likely to take a big hit.

What I am thinking about doing is hedging these aggressive funds with short QQQ. Thoughts?

Justa its nice the blackout is lifted. Sure would be nice if my copy of the newsletter would arrive, but I've only been a subscriber for 3 years.

Re:** Marketimer Discussion Black-Out Lifted **

What good came of this? Curious as to what the other Brinker discussion forums were doing, I started to frequent them. Actually, only one was on-line, Kirk's. Never paid much attention to it before, I mean justa how much Brinker-talk can one take? Anyway, I was pleasantly surprised by the level of discussion there and although I haven't started to actively participate, Kirk's forum is now bookmarked and I will continue to visit it on a daily basis. Last night there was an enlightening piece by someone who claims to be a intellectual property attorney:

"As an intellectual property litigator, I can tell you that there's some serious misconceptions on the brinker web site regarding: (1) what is protectible and proprietary and (2) the scope of that protection."

I also spent some time last night reading the posts under "General Investments" at the Brinker web site. My initial reaction is that those posts closely resemble the type of calls that Bob gets on his radio show. I haven't yet read the Brinker movie or music threads but do note that there has been an empty chair next to Ebert that needs to be filled.....maybe after the Super Bowl?
