DTM Offers new Solutions Enabling Companies to Take
Advantage of the Internet
MONTREAL, QUEBEC--
The Company becomes:
- the first IT Factory partner in Canada
- the first Citrix Systems Platinum Solution partner in Quebec
At the Annual General and Special Meeting of Shareholders held
this morning, Karol Brassard, Chairman of the Board and Chief
Executive Officer of DTM Information Technology Group, announced
new alliances that will enable the Company to offer customized
low-cost solutions to businesses of all sizes, giving them access
to the tools and numerous advantages of e-commerce.
DTM joins forces with IT Factory
DTM becomes the first Canadian partner of IT Factory, a European
company specializing in e-business solutions and development tools
with a proven track record. Among the 100 emerging companies
according to Computerworld, IT Factory accumulates well-known
clients and distinctions. "This alliance fits perfectly into our
strategy as it enables us to capitalize on our web development
expertise and to offer our clients products fostering their use of
the Internet and e-commerce," explains Mr. Brassard.
"This alliance will enable us to rapidly and efficiently provide
small businesses with various solutions, finally giving them
access to customized solutions at a low cost. In fact, we will be
able to personalize the solutions prepared by IT Factory, namely:
E-Commerce, Customer Service, Call Centre Management, Human
Resources, Marketing Management, Management Automation, Project
Management and Sales Force Management - applications making full
use of the Internet," affirms Rene Auger, Vice-President, Sales
and Marketing of DTM.
DTM certified as a Citrix Platinum Partner
At the Annual Meeting, Mr. Brassard also announced that DTM had
become the first Citrix Platinum Partner in Quebec. DTM is the
Quebec leader in Citrix "Thin Client" solutions - a solution that
centralizes applications, optimizes systems use and reduces
infrastructure support costs. This certification is highly
significant since it positions the Company as a potential
Applications Service Provider (ASP) - please see January 13, 2000
press release entitled "DTM Receives Citrix Platinum
Certification".
Strengthened Board of Directors
Two seasoned executives have now joined the Company's Board of
Directors. Andre Thompson, Chairman of the Board of Prima
Telematic and formerly President of IST, brings solid management
and strategic positioning experience in the information technology
industry. Elaine C. Phenix, President of Phenix Capital, and
formerly Senior Vice-President of the Montreal Exchange and Senior
Vice-President of Levesque Beaubien Geoffrion, provides DTM with
long-standing expertise in financial strategies.
Strategy yields benefits
In 1999, DTM made tremendous progress by strengthening its
expertise and outsourcing its computer hardware distribution
warehousing and logistics. These numerous developments have
reshaped DTM as a solid consulting company. "In 1997, only 20 %
of our employees were consultants, whereas they account for over
70 % of our workforce today. Drawing on this expertise, we now
offer targeted services that will see rapid growth in the coming
years."
These recent achievements, combined with a distinct improvement in
its cost structure, enabled DTM to post a net profit for the first
quarter of the current fiscal year, whereas it had incurred a
substantial loss last year. For the three-month period ended
October 31, 1999, service revenues also rose 70 %. DTM's
transformation continues as the Company now has a transactional
web site (DTMdirect.com), the user-friendliness of which was
demonstrated at the Annual Shareholders' Meeting.
As a result of the many developments in 1999 and the Company's
enhanced expertise in fast-growing niches, including the
development of web and e-commerce applications, DTM is on track to
achieve sustained growth in its consulting business and a distinct
improvement in its financial results in fiscal 2000.
