Bill, Ted, Mani, cirr,

Enjoyed the discussion, but there are too many of you and too few of me to continue.

Right now Intel and AMD are competitors, a chip that sells from one company is a sale lost for the other. In the near future, there will probably be products that compete with the PC for the home market, which represent about 50% of total chip sales (I think). At that point, AMD and Intel will become partners/competitors, both on the same side in defending and promoting the PC platform against the real competition that could affect the growth of the industry. That will significantly change the way the two companies look at each other.

Both companies need to become better marketers. Success in the consumer space is all about marketing, just ask P&G, Coke, Ford or any of the great consumer BRAND companies. If AMD were to become a great marketing company, I would buy the stock in a second. Right now they are second best to Intel, which isn't saying much at all.

Wishing us both luck on Intel earnings as AMD will rise or fall with the results and the outlook,

John
