Hey, Reg. Long time since I've been in SI. I missed you :) Anyhow, you're wrong, once again (I cannot believe no one called you on this one). At least when looking at all of the new economy companies on the Internet, virtually none are using COM+. The defacto standard on the server side is J2EE (Java Servlets, JSPs, EJBs, RMI/CORBA). The defacto standard on the client side is thin-client browsers, supporting both IE and Navigator, with perhaps some exceptions with regard to system administration, which often needs to be more thick-client to support more sophisticated types of interactions. Even in system administration, many are migrating (or planning to soon migrate) their clients to be standards-based interfaces (e.g. XML/DOM/ECMAScript). Moreover, most companies that are not J2EE based are in the process of migrating to it, away from MSFT proprietary stuff. Certainly, there are hard-core MSFT companies that use all of the MSFT proprietary stuff, but none of the new ecommerce companies (with the possible exception of MSFT entities) are doing so. And these companies represent the future.
