Interesting JLA, I didn't realize Bill was suspended. I was going to leave SI Bob's post alone but this has given me a chance to comment on a part of it that I found interesting. He seems to be asserting that SI believes the stock threads to be more important than the coffee shop threads? And spending undue time in the coffee shop threads, takes away from the time he should be spending in the stock threads. That's an interesting view and one I hadn't seen expressed by SI management in the past. Certainly the beginnings of SI were founded on discussing high tech stocks. I wonder if high-tech stock threads are viewed as more important than say the Wall Mart threads? Seems to me SI needs to consider what the *vision* of this place on the internet really is. Is it a stock bulletin board which has some additional threads? Or, is it a community of people who have an interest in stocks as well as many other things. If it's the latter, then the feelings thread is just as important to SI than the 6 or 7 Intel threads. If it's the former, then he is right, this place does deserve a lower-tier role of importance to police then the stock threads. What's also interesting is I believe Feelings has nearly as many posts on it then the largest stock threads. And I would venture to guess than many of the threads which were started after feelings in the coffee shop area, were influenced by many of the feelings lurkers and posters. Seems to me in the future internet model, advertisement is going to be the key to the growth and success of SI. So whatever format generates posts/hits and loyal customers would be viewed as valuable and important. And this thread certainly has some of the most loyal followers on SI. It also appears that SI Bob is overworked and maybe they need to hire some additional personnel. Hasn't Cheeky been applying for that job for quite some time? You know what, I'll bet SI could hire some of the most cared for and admired posters here already to help SI Bob for practically nothing. That might be an interesting contest. Submit a 500 word or less essay on why you should be considered for a post on the GNET Team as a remote "conflict resolution expert". I'll bet you would get some great essays! :-) Take Care, Michael
