Still though, part of an analyst's job is to run the numbers. As I've said many times before, there is more to being a tech analyst than knowing technology. At a real investment bank, an analyst who went out with a top pick days before the company pre-announces worse than expected earning would risk losing their job.

PS- what ever happened to that ole "net essentials" list? Seems like some of those picks have fallen by the wayside...

scoc - it's precisely at this inflection when it embraces integration of platforms that scoc with its unix base and tarantella (integrating mainframe, pc, linux) looks like it's more about the coming year than any previous year

tarantella is a new service/product that hasn't yet impacted scoc balance sheet...that's the key here
