RB, yes, when is the big question. i wish i had an answer, but my gut feeling (sorry!<ggg>) is not yet. obviously none of the traditional fundamental valuation measures are helpful in this regard. i agree with you btw. that the herd will be wrong at extremes. to see the AAII poll at 75% bulls and only 13% bears is pretty amazing and i'm tempted to think that we may be getting near one of those extreme inflection points. regards, hb
