tero: Chuckle. I don't feel I am a victim. Perhaps in that I differ from most of my countrymen from the "President" to others who indulge in self pity when it is absurd.

Real victims deserve sympathy and compassion. Self styled victims don't - or even those designated by you - i.e. me.

Fair enough, many of us would like to see the "holy wars" over and done with.

As I have stated many times I have great admiration for Nokia the company and Nokia's management.

I am just puzzled that Nokia seems either unwilling or unable to face squarely that CDMA is important now - right now - in Asia, Latin America, Australia, North America and the rest of the world outside the actificially protected exclusionary fortress europa (just a throw back to the old days - grin).

Best as always.

Chaz

PS I needle you because I respect your ability and savvy and wish you would direct a little - a small part perhaps - of your brain - to CDMA related issues.

We could all benefit if you would do that IMO.

Valid, interesting discussion on international themes has been suffocated under a putrid mound of overblown So-Cal hyperbole.

Southern California injury timeout. From now on please make a clear distinction between Ventura/Los Angeles/Orange Counties and beautiful San Diego County, the wireless capital of the world where apparently simple concepts like wireless carrier ROIs (Return of Investment) and the ability to influence industry supply and shape market demand have been suffocated under that putrid mound along with that stuff you mentioned ;-)

Retreading same issues isn't useful. What *would* be useful is to discuss mobile operators and manufacturers in a wider context. Why were the US GSM operators up by 500-900% during last year? Why did Sonera pick up more than 200% and overtake General Motors in the market cap? How did Telefonica become such a hottie after last fall? What does that tell about the expectations markets are now placing on mobile data, developing markets and consolidation of the industry?

Why were the US and Canadian CDMA operators up hundreds of percent last year? Why did Vodafone pay what they did for Airtouch? Why is DDI up 1,000%? Why could anyone throwing a dart at Korean operators make a fortune? Ignore all but Europe as long as you can.
