To anyone with an opinion on "filling the gap". On this and other SI boards, I have numerous times seen references to "filling the gap". I assume this is related to TA, of which I am a novice at best. Can someone please explain the need to fill the gap in the low $40s from back in Dec? Is there a reason gaps must be filled? Is this simply a phenomenon that has been observed, but has no reasonable explanation? Is this a self-fulfilling prophecy -- people believe it so much that it comes true? I apologize if this is too off topic. But if there is something to this, I can make use of it in the future. For example, I bought RIMM on a gap up, and it pulled back to fill the gap within a week. Should I have known that had to occur? If so, I would have waited for the pull back. Does this mean Novellus (NVLS) has to fill the gap at $85? Wow!
