I agree that a poor earnings report could take down a significant chunk of the market.

While I don't expect a poor earnings report, I also don't believe they can meet the expectations which have been built up with the latest rounds of upgrades. It'll be one of those cases where they report a record quarter, but not quite a big enough record.

The stock will be down tomorrow and could take much of the Nasdaq with it. Probably temporary, but possibly painful.

I have, for the first time in two years, covered my Intel position with puts to limit the downside. I have also hedged QQQ.

If I'm wrong, I'll blow out of the options at a small loss in the morning.

The real nightmare scenario is an Intel miss and a high inflation number. My only hedge against that one is hope...
