OT Claude: Thanks. Come to think of it, I have never had a "close call" when driving through NY--and I do it quite a bit. Maybe I have just been lucky so far. Whatever the fine, I hope states that put this law on the books make the fine really, REALLY high to dissuade people from ignoring it. BTW, my neighbor and I went to the store this morning while it was snowing. She insisted on driving because she has 4 wheel drive (even though I still think my 4 snow tires make driving better in my car). I insisted she leave her cell phone at home. Thank God she agreed. Lynn
