Tench, it is a combination of things, IMHO. I believe the market will find any excuse to "slow down" this liquidity driven rally, here are few: The Fed's meet early in Feb, the market may want to peg in (the LT bond already has) a raise. The fourth tightening move, very bearish for stocks traditionally. We will be post the major earnings reports by January 20th or so, after that you should expect a lull in "good news". February is indeed cyclically weak. The nature of the last rally (breadth and new high new lows) was not particularly solid. Zeev
