I believe something similar happened last quarter or the one before where the price plunged after hours only to rebound later after INTC issued their forward-looking statements. No, this was an actual F*-up. The newswires reported the number including charges against the expected number without charges ($0.61 vs $0.63 expected) and declared that Intel missed. Then the correct comparison was made ($0.69 vs $0.63 expected).
