Mary, Intel has made most of its mountain of profits selling microprocessors. Those come out of the Intel Architecture Business Group, IABG. IABG revenues and operating profits for the quarter were completely flat with last year's quarter. Where's the growth? Intel didn't grow IABG revenues and earnings because they didn't sell out; inventories are down around 5% vs year-ago. As for their investments, is an $8 billion portfolio of 'net names worth the market cap Intel has tacked on? -mb

Mary, Michael, Michael. If you were a baseball player and you batted over .400 - some of those hits are going to be cheapies - or
lucky hits, but they still count.

They all look like line drives in the box score.

Tony

Mary, <Intel sold out. Inventory is way down. They made a lot of good investments. They made a lot of money. You can't ask a company to better than that.>

You should tell that to some of the guys on the AMD thread. Denial, sour grapes, "accounting gimmicks," boo hoo. Considering that very few of them actually expected INTC to even meet expectations, much less exceed them, I think we can all figure out what planet some of them live on. And it ain't Earth.
