Thread,

<Q4 was 13 weeks, I believe.

Q1 will have 14 weeks.>

Looks like PB and I heard it differently. Would appreciate if someone can confirm.

TIA,
Chuck

BP, re: INTC quarter length

The question of the impact of a slightly longer quarter was asked during the end of the CC. The representative stated that it would likely have very limited impact on the bottom line since they would have a full week of expenses but a relatively light week of revenues as their customers are trying to manage (limit) their own expenses/inventories.

Reminds me of a common criticism of American businesses that they are too focused on a 3-month performance period rather than looking out for the long-term. Of course, I have been/will be awaiting this quarters news from several companies so perhaps I am representative of the investor community that prompts this short time horizon.

PB: I appreciate your participation on SI (even on the AMD thread) and consider INTC to be a good company that does look ahead. However, I believe that having a real competitor at the high end (Athlon) will help push new developments forward at Intel though I am sure the engineers are always interested in trying to push the limits.
