ASICs are coming out of Qualcomm [more accurately their foundry suppliers' factories] at nearly 20m per quarter with a fast growth rate. So there will be about 20m CDMA handsets per quarter being sold over this year. I think that is going to be similar to the GSM quarterly sales rate!

This year is likely to see GSM monthly handset sales exceeded by CDMA monthly sales.


Sorry Maurice....I dont that this will happen quite yet. You are comparing the CDMA total handset sales vs. the GSM new sub numbers. Since GSM has a much larger installed base the upgraded handset market is huge. We are still a couple of years away from a crossover point.
