Thanks Mani,

It's getting me down that iNtEL can't supply enough processors.
I was hoping to pick up a faster slot one cpu cheaper
now that the floppermines have been announced.

Of course, it's getting me up that AMD stock is trading
better than iNtEL's. I may have to get a CPA.......and settle for
AMD Athlon, THE FASTEST PC PROCESSOR IN THE WORLD!

as per pricewatch, there is more listing for Athlon 700 than PIII 700 and PIII 667 COMBINED. :)

So what?

Intel sold every CPU they could manufacture. They couldn't manufacture enough to meet demand and lost part of Gateway's business to AMD.

Pricewatch is mostly home to gray market vendors. If OEMs couldn't get enough CPUs directly from Intel, why would they be selling them on the gray market?

Why the fixation with pricewatch, anyways?

Check out the latest Catalog from CDW (www.cdw.com. I just received the latest printed version - January 2000.

They list 733 MHz/133 FSB Pentium III Machines from Compaq, HP, and IBM, as well as 650 and 667 MHz models.

Only two AthWIPEY's are listed - both from Compaq - a 600 and 700 MHz Wipey - NOTHING HIGHER.

There are also 450 and 500 MHz Pentium III notebooks from Sony, NEC, Toshiba, and Compaq.

There are NO AthWIPEY notebooks at all. DUH !

Put your spin on this.
