i think ed's instructions only apply to win98.

i have netscape instructions, but not ie5.0.

we'll have to hunt around. i do have a cool program loaded on my other machine (win95) called startup manager. it let's you do the same thing in w95 that ed was showing you in w98. i'll get the url and be back. meanwhile, maybe someone else will have the solution.

okay, here's a download site for startup manager2.0 for win95.

i personally use this program and give it high marks. easy to install and setup and use. and it caused no conflicts with my system.

when it's installed you'll be able to uncheck aol instant messneger just like win98 let's ya do.
