MediaOne owns 25% of RR and ATT is in the process of acquiring MediaOne.

....As a give-and-take they may still allow ATT to sell their services provided ATT opens its cable plants for AOL to sell its BB content.

AT&T cannot open it's lines until ATHM is out the the way. A scenario that makes sense is for AOL/TWX to sell/merge RR into ATHM in exchange for rights to use ATHM's backbone, which effectively makes AOL available in all upgraded areas in the country.

Let ATHM worry about completing the BB infrastructure of RR.

Nat;

Thanks for a very well thought out and informative response.
I agree with all you say, the big question, as you mention, is the uncertianty surrounding how long it may take to get things sorted out. The AOL senior management are extremely strong, so the likeliehood of anything major causing a stumble should be well controlled.
