Leap Wireless International Supports FCC's Commitment To Re-auction NextWave Spectrum in July 2000

SAN DIEGO, Jan. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Wireless communications carrier Leap Wireless International, Inc. (Nasdaq: LWIN - news) today said it supports the decision by the Federal Communications Commission that cancelled the NextWave licenses and scheduled a re-auction of those licenses on July 26, 2000. In the scheduled re-auction, Leap believes the FCC should follow the procedures of its 1999 re-auction and should maintain its existing policy of preserving C- and F-block PCS operating licenses for ``designated entities.'
