>>May this year be financially productive for both AMD and Intel!<<

Ted- I can drink to that! I think it is good for both companies that Intel was able to have the quarter it did in spite of the very bad stumbles and miscalculations made. Add in the vigorous competition from AMD, and, hyped report or not, the quarter was a great one. This is not a zero sum game.
I continue to think, however, that a lot of the criticism of the report on this forum stems from the continued tendency of AMD people to see Intel for what AMD itself is, namely a producer of CPUs and minor peripheral products, including flash. So everyone wants to take out any non-CPU revenues and earnings from the report. The fact is that Intel is becoming a major internet, wireless and communication company, and more and more of its revenues are going to be coming from those sources. It would not surprise me a bit if Intel were out of the PC CPU business within the next 5-7 years, leaving AMD alone in whatever is left of that segment.
Intel is moving on, and its movement is relatively non-apparent at this point.
Best wishes for a good quarter for AMD.
