All clear for the tech stocks. Should see a rally go right into February. I still feel December retail sales were an inflated number due to millenium buying (the need to buy nice gifts to mark the end of the millenium).
Watch for retail sales to drop in a big way when we get the January numbers next month. More fuel to the techs.

Does anyone have a feeling that Greenspan knew what the CPI was before his speech yesterday. I believe he did and that is why he downplayed the importance of it. I had the CPI would be better than expected given his comments.

We are set to rocket!!

"CPI below expected.S&P exploding up to +19 from +9 pre-numbers.
CNBC:" No inflation ". :-)"

See what I mean. This is simply not the picture. CPI is backwards-looking. So what if there was no inflation yesterday. Does anybody here think Greenspan gives a tinkers *$%# if milk did not go up yesterday? Heck no. CPI is meaningless for us here. Actually, its worse than meaningless, it is dangerous to pay attention to CPI. Again, it is the prospect for inflation today and tomorrow that counts. A focus on CPI may be perilous.
