Voltaire, What is your motivation for exiting this thread?
If it has anything to do w/a couple of us razzing you over an escapade of pleasure, then that reason is an invalid excuse. And a piss poor one @ that.....

You add too much to this thread, let's keep QCOM the primary reason for being here.

The fact is, trysts like yours, are a compelling reason to buy more QCOM.

Stick around :) TIM

Tom- I've been watching but not posting, trying to keep the "noise" down that seems to irritate so many, especially on days that Q is down-! It is very interesting to watch the psychology of people on this and other threads on days like we've had- tolerance erodes even faster than the time value on Qcom call options. It's not pretty to watch some of the best/most successful people on this thread crack down and lash out emotionally- but as you follow market psychology, I'm sure it's all just grist for your mill. Your virtues- respect, generosity, courage- grow even more pronounced during trying times. I for one am as inspired by this display as much as any of your phenomenally accurate calls on the movement of this stock. Much continued success to you, and I'd also like to reserve a spot on one of those swinging chairs on your porch, if you please!

Vol -

RE your post about the market direction in Feb/early Mar. I agree with you. Indeed I posted here in late Dec that come the end of earnings season in Jan Mr G would hit the ground running toinject soome worry into the market.

I think the following:- -

1. Don't be fooled by great up days like today. I must admit that they seduce me as did last Mondays hike. These ups will not last.

2. Towards the end of earnings season ie in about the end of the week after next the market will tank. It may not wait till the end of the week after next indeed it may weel start its southward trek in the middle of next week.

3. Why? Well we might differ just a little here. I happen to believe that it is a significant reduction in buying pressure rather than any form of selling co-ordinated or otherwise that causes the prices to drop.

4. What does it look like? Down 30-50 points a day interspersed with a couple of mediocre up days just to keep peoples interest and hope alive.

5. Does it hit all stocks. Going back to last Jan I seem to remember some stocks getting off quite lightly.

6. What about the Q? Well the 25th is very very late in the day to avoid getting slugged. Q might just scrape through but my guess is that the slide will start next Thursday and last for approx. 6 weeks until the end of the second week of March. Interpolating then my guess is a drop of about 100 to 125 points a week (NAZ) for say six weeks landing up at around 3,200 to 3,400. Just MHO and based nothing more than what seemed to me to happen last January, last March, last April and last June.

So far as the Q peformance is concerned I expectt as I posted earlier to mg that it will be nothing short of spectacular. What I don't have a feel for is whether that will be enough to sustain it through the slide.

Best regards,

L

Want to quit? what a coward! Look at me. I was attacked and ridiculed for a full week simply because I sold a few shares of Q a few months ago. I am still alive and around. This thread, reflecting the real world, is diversified. All opinions should be tolerated. That's the reason you want to be here -to influence and to be influenced.
