*OT* I do have some sympathy for the CNBC crew...after all, many have to get up at un-godly hours...appear on TV (even on bad hair/mood days)...AND, worse of all, sounds like they are restricted in what they can invest in (like individual stocks)...supposedly CNBC is a pretty cheap outfit (salaries)......HOWEVER...

It is inexcusable to say things that you have not checked....Maria, obviously, had not checked...and just assumed...maybe because she was leading with the story (she "making" the news).....that Dell was down...and, even worse, that Dell would be trading down for the day....(why should a reported ever predict such...especially given the lack of news in her story).........It smells (just a little) that someone at Merrill (who told her about the report) might have said that ("Dell going down") or some bug in her ear told her ......I am giving her the benefit of the doubt here....

These folks (CNBC) certainly have some power....they need to be extra careful, IMO, before they open their mouth...AT LEAST, qualify stuff you are not sure about...that would seem easy enough....
