RESEARCH ALERT-Cymer Q4'99 EPS, price target upped
NEW YORK, Jan 14 (Reuters) - Lehman Brothers analyst Tolomy Erpf said Friday he raised his fourth-quarter 1999 and fiscal 2000 earnings estimates for Cymer Inc. (NasdaqNM:CYMI - news) and upped his 12-month price target to $65 per share from $60 per share.

-- Erpf said although he was unable to capture enough data points to quantify the magnitude of the potential upside, he is nonetheless ''conservatively'' raising his earnings estimates for the fourth quarter to 25 cents a share from 23 cents a share, and fiscal 2000 estimates to $1.40 a share from $1.35 a share.

-- Shares of Cymer were up 2-1/8 trading at 56 on the Nasdaq stock market.

-- Erpf said Cymer is due to report fourth-quarter 1999 results on Jan. 31.

-- Said based on conversations with customers, competitors, and suppliers, Erpf is confident that Cymer's results will exceed both Lehman's and and Wall Street consensus expectations.
